Would you rather be as small as a mouse or as tall as a giraffe? Be sure to tell me why.

Imagine you get to decide what furniture is going to be in your classroom. You can have ANY furniture you want. What would you like to have in your classroom? Why?
Next week is Thanksgiving. What are some of your family traditions?
I'll start... when I was younger, my family always went to my grandparents' house (my mom's parents). When my grandpa died and my grandma got older, we started going to my uncle's house. Last year, Mr. Baker, Angel and I had Thanksgiving at the lake with my parents. This year, Angel's 16th birthday is on Thanksgiving. :) Now that Mr. Baker's dad is living with us, he will go with us to my uncle's house for Thanksgiving dinner. My grandma always makes too many desserts!! Sometimes we go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving...but I don't get up as early as some people do. I am looking forward to reading about your Thanksgiving plans. :) I absolutely love doing book clubs!! Some of you have really shown me that you are excited about the books you are reading. :) What is your favorite thing so far about book clubs? What would make book clubs better? Please answer using your very best capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Please use details in your response.
As track out comes to an end, I am a little sad because I did not get to do all the things I wanted to do. :( However, I am very excited about all the great things we are going to be learning second quarter!! I am eager to hear about all the cool things you did over track out. Some of the things I did were: went to a student's baptism, went to a former student's soccer game, started reading a book that a student let me borrow (haven't finished it yet), slept late, spent time with Mr. Baker and Angel, went to a math workshop, cleaned and organized my house and relaxed!! What are some of the things you did over track out?
Many of you know I have met with your parents or I will be meeting with your parents really soon. What is one positive thing you would like me to share (or hope that I have shared) about you during the conference? Be sure to use details!!
Today is the 30th day of third grade!!! That is 6 weeks of school!! What are some of your victories as a third grader so far? I have already seen you making great changes and I have even seen some of you working on your "YETS." I want to know what you are proud of so far in third grade. I'll go first....One of my victories is making sure we are writing in our writing notebooks every day. Another victory for me is that I have been organized with Xtra math. Xtra math is new to me this year, and I was concerned I would not be able to keep up with it...so far, I have been able to keep up with it!! :) Your turn....what are YOUR victories as a third grader??
OK kids, it is your turn to write. Tell me anything you want to tell me about how you feel about third grade so far. Remember, other people will see your comments. :)
Whew! I am glad there is only one first week of school a year!! However, I have to say that this week was one of the best first weeks of school I have had!! The students were so excited to be in third grade. They asked great questions, participated well, and jumped right into lessons. I just read the weekly reflections the students completed today. They complete reflections at the end of each week. On the reflection, they tell something they are proud of, something they want to work on, questions they have, the best thing that happened this week, a goal for next week, and something they want me to know. I was excited to see the students so eager to set goals and was very proud of them for being able to identify areas that they are proud of and areas that they want to work on in school.
This is a great group of kids and I am looking forward to a fantastic year!! Although it is track out, I have been working hard preparing for the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. I enjoyed meeting all the families at Meet & Greet and am so excited about the new school year!! I have made my annual beginning of the year trip to Stones School Supply. This year, I took my daughter, Angel with me. She has never been in Stones; she loved it!! I didn't think I was going to ever get her out of the store, but I was secretly excited that she enjoyed being there since I love going. :) I picked out a new calendar for the classroom as well as a few other things that I think will be good additions to our classroom. I hope all the students are having a fun and relaxing track out and are getting excited about third grade.
