About Mrs. B
Dear Parents,
I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Missi Baker and I am beginning my 18th year of teaching at Holly Springs Elementary. Before becoming a public school teacher, I taught pre-school. I attended Wake County Public Schools Kindergarten through twelfth grade. I obtained an Early Childhood Associates Degree from Wake Technical College and a Bachelors Degree in Child Development and K-6 certification from Meredith College. I also achieved my National Board Teaching Certification in 2006. I grew up in Garner and now live in Willow Spring.
I am an avid NC State fan and love ladybugs. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, going to our family’s lake house, doing crafts with my daughter, and participating in activities with my church. My husband Kristofer and I were married in December, 2007. We adopted our 15 year old daughter, Angel (11th grade) in 2012. I am a step-mama (called ‘Smama’) to William (college freshman) and Ana (11th grade). I can’t leave out our furry babies, Bella Petunia Baker and Izzi Lou Baker. Bella is an English Bulldog/Boxer mix and Izzi is a Chihuahua, they are both spoiled rotten!!
I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children. I am truly passionate about teaching and making a difference in the lives of children. I believe in focusing on the whole child, not just academics. It is very important to me that each child feels like a part of the classroom family.
We are going to have a phenomenal year. Thank you for sharing your child with me.
Sincerely,
Missi Baker
